Activities
Entertainment is provided mostly through a voluntary group of performers named ‘Harmony’. They produce various musical acts and visit every 2-3 months. There is also an organisation named ‘The Friends of Victoria Lodge’ whose members come to visit residents and assist with a programme of various in-house activities. They also arrange outside activities for those wishing to take part.
Our in-house activities include music and movement sessions, song and music relaxation sessions. There are also games such as dominoes, giant skittles; giant floor based snakes and ladders as well as various card games. We have recently commenced regularly scheduled memory sessions. There is also a knitting group. Any resident of family member is able to suggest a new activity or game, and should there be wider interest then it would be incorporated into our Activities Program.
Residents are able to avail themselves of our two lounges. The main lounge is where most residents choose to sit and chat, listen to music or watch television. The smaller lounge is designated as our ‘quiet lounge’ where residents can just sit in tranquility, rest or read as they desire.
Secluded Garden. To the rear of Victoria Lodge there is a walled garden offering perfect tranquility and security yet in the centre of Town. The garden is currently being landscaped and has been outfitted with garden chairs and benches so that all may enjoy the oasis of calm and serenity.
